Dan and his team are fantastic. They are knowledgeable, great teachers and know how to coach the kids to get better scores. My daughter had an over 200 point increase on her SAT from taking classes with Shining Students.

ACT/SAT Test Prep
Many factors go into this decision, including scores, student comfort, goals, and testing timeline. When possible, we compare practice results from both exams and assess whether there is a meaningful difference between them. We also consider how the student feels while taking each test. Our goal is to help students choose the exam that best fits their strengths and gives them the clearest path forward.
A recent ACT or SAT practice test or official score report is very helpful because it shows us where the student is starting. If your student has not taken one yet, we can help recommend the best next step.
ACT and SAT prep timelines depend on the student’s starting score, goal score, schedule, and test date. Some students need short-term support before an upcoming exam, while others benefit from a longer plan over several months.
We do not guarantee a specific ACT or SAT score increase because results depend on many factors, including attendance, practice, starting score, and test difficulty. However, we build structured test prep plans designed to help students make meaningful progress.
Yes. We offer one-on-one ACT and SAT tutoring and may also offer small-group test prep options depending on student needs and scheduling. Most of our test prep students choose individual tutoring because it allows us to focus on strategies tailored to that student’s goals, strengths, and areas for improvement. Periodically, we also offer intensive classes for small cohorts of test takers.
